Smart cards (otherwise known as chip cards) have become an integral part of the way we perform day to day tasks, from identifying ourselves and gaining access to our places of work to making payment while shopping. All smart cards contain microchips (hence, chip cards) and can be split into two camps - contact cards (like a bank card) and contactless (RFID) cards.
