AT88SCxxx Series

Microchip AT88SCxx Series (formerly Atmel) is a high performance secure family of memory cards ranging from 1Kbit of user memory to 256Kbits user memory with security and cryptographic features built in. User memories can range from to 1 application area to 16 application areas that can be individually secured with their own access rights/keys.  They offer the ability to communicate with virtually any smart card reader using the asynchronous T=0 protocol defined in ISO7816-3.  This enables applications to be built using PC/SC rather more proprietary commands needing specific drivers.
