Types of Printing
There are many different methods for printing cards: Offset lithographic (litho), offset digital, silk screen, dye sublimation and re-transfer. Which method our production facilities use is dependent on many factors such as artwork design, quantity, lead-time, etc. Our experienced staff will be happy to advise you as to which method(s) are most suited to your exacting needs.
High volumes typically are printed at the time of manufacture using litho, digital or silkscreen printing press. This gives an excellent bankcard quality finish to the card. Depending on the required design a combination of these processes may be needed
Smaller runs can be produced by our in-house card bureau using dye-sublimation or re-transfer printing systems. In this case blank white cards from stock would be overprinted with the design onto the surface of the card. Re-transfer printing can facilitate full edge to edge printing whilst dye-sublimation is ideal when a quick turn around is required.
