Standalone Contact/Pin Pad Readers
Here we have two key product lines from Gemalto and Omnikey. These will support many memory and microprocessor cards such as the Infineon SLE44xx/ SLE55xx range or the Java Card from NXP JCOP21.
These readers have more intelligence than the normal pc-linked readers as they do not require a PC to operate and by definition can work in standalone mode. They can come in different form factors such as Pin Pads and Desktop terminals.
